REFLECTION

This module explores the idea of modelling a 3-dimensional space based on a given narrative, presented through two rendered and textured perspective images as well as an isometric drawing with field notations. My overall design for this module was fairly simple. This is mainly because the reading says "I do not wish your eyes to catch a distorted image, so I must draw your attention to an intrinsic quality of this unjust city." Therefore, I avoided doing a lot of extreme manipulations and have kept it simple by retaining the original old quad shape. The reflection of Berenice is represented by the crumbling elements, which further show how the city of Berenice and its people are slowly tearing apart.  In my design, I have also intentionally placed a portico in the middle of the city. Not only because it was mentioned in the narrative, but also because I wanted to provide a visual connection as to where my two perspectives are sort of meeting and not only show random parts of my design. To the overall design, I have also added notations to help represent the flow of time and action within the city.

Story Interpretation

The hidden Berenice secretly grows in ‘bitterness, rivalry, resentment, and the natural desire of revenge’, where the people yearn to be more just than the just.
