Understanding and integrating building functionality, site, and landscape interface through the design of a contemporary pleasure garden complete with spaces for social gathering and interaction which are immersive as well as engaging.
The Interlude Garden
The interlude garden was designed to accentuate the idea of journey and to offer meandering opportunities. It is essentially a pleasure garden that offers a break or diversion from the repeating loop of normal daily life routines. This project was further developed based on the concept of time and space, and the so-called in-between or transitional spaces. I was especially interested to explore how spaces with this quality can be integrated with the landscape or designed in a way so that it can offer a more atmospheric experience and impact the visitors engagement in the pleasure garden.
